Space age dreamy futuristic. Although, with other parallels. Doha Qatar that I went to next door is like a version unknown. Identical observation to Kuwait City Kuwait. Dubai is the one that might have most foreign visitors. Could be changing recently. I enjoy my own exposure to one of these some years ago. I don't think there is any inferior option. In UAE, there is simultaneously Abu Dhabi.

I went to Dubai and I have a similar impression, but then I didn't go into the more local neighbors that some mentioned. Not sure I'd go back there really, I think once the oil has all dried up it will crumble into the dust from which it sprang.

You think wrong.

Contrary to what you think you know, Dubai's economy is not oil-based.

I'm thinking long term, and what I think and know is always correct.

This researched article shows the real truth of the failing economy of Dubai.

Serious debt problems, and soon it will then have to revert back to oil, which it was built upon, and that will run out and that will be the end of that.

So I'm not wrong at all, you are wrong.

I believe I am going to Dubai UAE in June 2020. Just got the well secure airplane tickets from solid months of savings. Only $227 from NYC to there! WOW, out of this world affordable.

Regardless, I am never going to get disappointed like how I was with Paris. Even when I still like that one just enough. Economics is quite stable. Wealthier than Ile-De-France. Absolutely everyone is just hoping endless good things for UAE, and France. Bright optimistic stability.

In France, I actually prefer Nice, Lyon, Lille, Grenoble, Chamonix, Marseille, Ajaccio, Bayonne, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Montpelier, Cannes, Perpignan.

Dubai is having way superior luxury hotels that aren't exorbitant in pricing compared to relatively absent to non-existence finds in my hometown of New York City. At least triple+ and a bit lower in native monthly wages.

You're response is a complete non sequitur. The fact that Dubai has debt problems has absolutely nothing to do with your erroneous position that their economy is oil-based. Since you like links to news articles so much, here's one for you:

"Boasting the most diversified economy in the Gulf, Dubai derives 94 percent of its public revenues from non-oil sources which also make up the majority of its gross domestic product."

LOL, what are you, five? That's as about as mature as saying I'm rubber and you're glue; whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you.

Or how about: I know you are, but what am I?

I can't wait for your next intelligent and mature response. Whatever it is, you may have the last word on the subject.

You are optimistic by hoping to go in June. My sister has lived in Dubai for ten years and they are in total lockdown right now. They need a permit from the police to leave their house and it is only given for essential shopping or medical reasons. The number of infections is still increasing. It is the last place I would be thinking of going this year.

We were going to transit there later this year but we are expecting our borders to be still closed in October, so no way will we be going there.

It's an odd city that has all the comforts of home, regardless where home is. There's Tim Horton's for Canadians, Nando's for those from RSA, Jolibee for the Filipinos, and probably the best Indian food outside London or Delhi.
So, Vegas is still better.
