Agreed architecture of varying kinds should be a category. Grand architecture like churches, monuments, castles as well as smaller examples like historic houses.

Attractions like the Hoover Dam, Golden Gate Bridge and other technological and engineering wonders should be added to the list too.

Good post. I'm also thinking that many of the "great wonders" which may partially fit some of the categories a little bit should be explicitly added.

Pyramids, Great Wall etc.

I like to visit anything that locals recommend...but I guess museums are highest on the list you provided. I think you forgot to mention local restaurants/food places/breweries/bars .

In the list I voted for museums. I thought very funny that you mentioned museums that I have never heared about.

Yep! Love the Ocean, but for man made I picked the Zoo. We have 2 big one's in the Chicagoland area. Brookfield and Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park is downtown next to Lake Michigan and it's fantastic! My kids LOVE going there!!

That's nice. Feel free to start a thread on National Parks. This thread is about man-made attractions.

I definitely agree.

The Grand Coulee Dam is at the top of my "engineering wonders" list.
