I have a friend from Romania. Love listening to her speak to her family. They could be talking smack about me, but it sounds nice.

My father was Welsh and spoke it beautifully so I also have an affinity for hearing Welsh (though sadly my literacy is almost completely lacking). French I also love to listen to and I speak/understand that language a lot better than Welsh.

French, seconded by Creole. I regret not learning to speak French in my younger days.

I enjoy hearing Polish, Russian and Czech.

It seems to be the opposite of German , which has mostly hard sounds similar to "k"

The other three have the "sh" "z" sounds.

When I hear Polish spoken I always say......"dobrze "

Some European languages seem a little off when English syllable rules don't apply. I naturally look for a unit of pronunciation having one vowel sound but when you read words like 'cwtch' - you wonder how will the natives pronounce in correctly?

I think English language's syllable structure may seem off to them as well?

One grandmother was from France and the other from Italy and I enjoyed listening to them speaking their native languages. They're both gone and I find hearing French and Italian comforting.
