A friend of mine had their annual company "Presidents Club" trip moved from Paris to Hawaii due to the violence. Is this starting to impact European tourism?
It's not stopping me from planning travel there, but its not exactly increasing the appeal either. To be sure, even with the terrorist threat facing some of Europe now, those areas still remain relatively very safe (at least as far as terrorism is concerned). However, it is concerning that there are several active terror cells plotting and carrying out large attacks with seemingly increased regularity (even if its not an everyday thing). Still, much like the everyday threat of terror wouldn't make me change my plans to travel to Israel, the same applies to travel to Europe for me.
Stockholm, Sweden (CNN)Riots broke out in a predominantly immigrant neighborhood of Stockholm Monday night, as residents clashed with police officers and set vehicles on fire, Swedish police say.
Officers were forced to call in reinforcements when a crowd began to gather in the suburb of Rinkeby during the arrest of a suspect, according to a statement from Stockholm police.
Stockholm regional police chief Ulf Johansson said the clashes may have been a result of their "increased pressure on criminals in the area."
I wouldn't feel safe in either country. My wife has no interest in foreign travel and I spent a career traveling all over the world, so I would say my foreign travel days are over. If I were to go to Europe, the place I would feel safe would be in the former Warsaw Pact countries.

Do you feel safer in France or Mexico?
I feel much safer in Baltimore, St Louis, or Detroit than I do in Paris or Mexico City.
