No...no comparison. The problem in the US is what is commonly known as "gate lice", people just tend to stand around blocking the gate. That's because they are just not familiar with the boarding process.
In China it's different - crowds that actually try to push and shove there way unto trains, subways, stores, etc. Don't even get me started on Chinese tourists. The issue is you have essentially an entire country that has grown up in shacks and riding bicycles and are now 30 years later living in high rises and driving Toyotas and talking on cell phones. Think of a country of Beverly Hillbillies.
Last year when the TSA was having more issues than usual, the Seattle airport hired a bunch of temps to stand around with 'line ends here' signs that ended up being quite helpful amid the security line chaos.
I remember when I went to India & realized that the concepts of lining up voluntarily for anything, or personal space, were completely foreign there, we assume what works for us will be universal. Pushing, shoving, lots of body contact... like a Walmart on Black Friday.

If you or your friends were a white female then many of them were purposely bumping into you to touch parts of your body to get sexual pleasure. That's normal in India.
