Hey, whatever floats their boat but ...how will that make it safer to fly? If you have never been in trouble, your prints are not in any database...A terroristgroup does not use their people in charge, but unknowns who have not been printed. I think it may be another one of "Big Brother watching" type things. Western Europe has cameras on most busy streets now. I have no idea what they're there to prevent. People who are up to no good just congregate someplace else now.. We have ID cards with computer chips that are a must here in Belgium, bankcards have chips too, your wage gets automatically deposited into your account( no more paychecks), everything goes into a database so they know basically where you are at all times...and how much money you have...scary really... Even for those of us who have nothing to hide.

By how much does this increase delays? Heathrow already has the worst record in this area.
