Agree or disagree?

I don't fly that much, of the airlines I have flown, I agree with the results. Do you?

United is 4th BEST? You gotta be sh*****g me.
I don’t fly frequently, but in the last 10 years, United has consistently served up delayed flights, dirty smelly planes, close encounters with being bumped, and one badly damaged brandnew hardshell luggage case. They must have deliberately rammed a forklift into its corner.

I only fly Southwest, Delta, and United. Frankly, I haven't had any significant issues with any of them. But frankly, I think a lot of travelers show up to the airport looking for offense. I guess I'm more easy going.

I fly Alaska exclusively, so I have no way to compare it to others, but I certainly have no complaints. I travel mostly on miles and I don't ever have a problem getting a flight, so certainly their rewards program is better than some or most. I've heard of other airlines having blackout dates when it comes to using miles.

In the last five years, I think I’ve flown Delta exclusively. I can’t remember a single time when they weren’t reasonably accommodating, so when compared to some of the horror stories I’ve heard about other airlines, it doesn't surprise me that Delta would be in the top 3.

I haven’t flown United in a decade or two, but from everything I’ve heard (from both travel media and friends/family that have flown United) I’m surprised that they were #4.

I would fly Alaska a LOT more if they offered:
  • Free Bags
  • Free Changes
  • Award tickets for <5,000 pts
  • and FAST open seating
  • More international routes
But since they don't...

I have flown UA for 40+ yrs, sometimes many times / week.
I have not had a terrible experience, and generally pretty good.
Everyone and company has their own issues...

Spirit and Frontier... only fly them in a pinch, and if willing to forfeit the fare (<$50 usually)

Well, on my last United flight the flight attendant refused to fill my 16 oz water bottle. When I said something about company policy, she proudly informed me it was not, it was HER policy as she was tired of being sick all the time from filling people's water bottles. When I told her I understood and I would fill it myself she told me "NO". Then started a lecture on water being available in the airport (this was a 5 hour flight).

When I finally wandered over to another staff member, he informed it was United policy because it was unsanitary to touch their water bottles to others. I mentioned to him that the part I put my mouth on comes off to be filled.... lucky me, I got water.

This was after they bumped my minor child to another flight.

I guess I'm just too sensitive.

And I guess we were fine, because although it was a red eye flight...... we weren't offered coffee before landing in the morning.
