I am going to consider region in this sense to be your state and surrounding areas or in my case the general Upland/Upper South Region.

1) Eastern TN/Western NC Mountains
2) The Ozarks
3) The Entire Cumberland Plateau region from Red River Gorge in NE Kentucky down to where TN/AL/GA meet

I live in NC.

My top three would be Beaver Island, MI, Bar Harbor ME and the Outer Banks in NC. I live in the NC mountains, so I don't need to vacation here. LOL
