You can get single entry on arrival. Not sure about the transit visa.

I am going to Kenya in 2 weeks and will do visa-on-arrival for single entry.

Will check it for you and report back.

I got mine quick and cheap, phone your county health department. Get a TBT booster, too. Places that require it in Brazil give the shot at the border while the bus waits.

So I spoke to the NYC consulate which of course gave me an entirely different answer than the DC one

I am going to Kenya for about 6 days, going to SA, then coming back to Kenya for just one day. The NYC consulate says I need a multiple entry but the DC one says I can just get by on a Single Entry and don't even need the transit visa … neither of these sound correct

but I am right in assuming that if my 2nd entry back into Kenya is only for day, then I would not need a multiple entry if I am there on the back-end for LESS than 72 hours? I should be able to get a transit visa for this part of the trip, according to research on the internet … right?

Just decided I would get the multiple entry b/c I can't get straight answers from anyone … this way we can avoid a problem in Nairobi.

Dropped the docs off @ consulate in NYC yesterday, just gotta wait for them to come back to us now. They said 6-7 business days … sound about right?

Sorry for the late reply. Just got back from Kenya

There is option for transit visa on arrival.

This is the form for visa on arrival

It is very easy. There is only 1 queue for foreigners. No separation between visa on arrival, evisa or actual visa. I pass through very quickly.

Finally heard from them. They told me even though my second time entering back into Kenya was only for 1 day, a single and a transit would not work and I would need a multiple.

I really feel I am right and they are wrong, but whatever, we did it and it is done. Got the visas into our passports and we should be good to go now, other than yellow fever.

@Cebuan, did they give you some kind of yellow certificate? I heard it is good for life.
