You're not going to Yemen or Mecca. Currently, no airline will even fly through Yemeni air space. To enter Mecca, you must be a Muslim, their are checkpoints, and they really mean it. You can easily get there on a layover at Jeddah, but don't even try.
Last I hear, no visa is required for a layover of less than 18 hour, but you are still in KSA and bound to the same rules of conduct as any other visitor..
