Do you think that Saudi Arabia will become a big tourist destination in the next few years rivaling the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Oman, Jordan, and Israel.

I would like to go there.
I know they have lifted the ban on women driving. Does anyone know, since then, have things gotten better in the country overall?
If Saudi can exhibit a way of life with equality for all people and move in the way of no longer oppressing women, I think they have a shot at bettering relations globally and welcoming willing tourists.
They are also moving toward evisas for citizens of Western countries, lifted a ban on movie theaters, and are building the world's tallest building in Jeddah.

Lifted a ban on movie theaters. WELL HALLELUJAH!
Sounds like a tourist mecca (no pun intended) already. I'm booking my flight now.
Would never willingly go to Saudi Arabia. I’ve seen things there that left me horrified that such people still exist in the 20th century (was there in 1990 before Desert Storm). Unless you’re Muslim making the pilgrimage to Mecca there is no good reason to go to Saudi Arabia.

Do you think it is different there now?
