are you specifically looking for a hot weather beach vacation or just someplace where the weather is nice enough to be outdoors, but it doesn't have to be hot?

Thanksgiving week at TX Hill country Conference (as usual)
Week after Thanksgiving, enjoying festivities in TX Hill Country Christmas Parades and town lightings and concerts and River Walk in SA.
We are headed back to see our families in central California for almost a full week, and then we're spending two days in the L.A. area. For us it'll be quite warm compared to where we live in Western Wyoming. The hotels are booked and everyone is looking forward to the visit. I just wish we didn't have to do the 16+ hour drive each way. That's the worst part of the whole vacation.
I'm waiting to see how the family drama plays out. Plan A is that I'll drive to my mom's house about 50 miles away and pick her up, then we'll go on to the extend family get-together with about 35 other people. Plan B is that I'll drive to my mom's house, pick her up, and we'll enjoy a lovely stress-free dinner at the local Chinese Buffet with just the immediate family (5 of us).
I have to say.... I'm kind of hoping for Plan B this year.
We avoid holiday traveling, so will have a quiet Thanksgiving at home.
Same here. I usually go to early Mass and then to DTLA and serve a hot meal to the needy. Go home, fire up the dvd player and enjoy a Laurel & Hardy marathon.

New Orleans is pretty nice that time of year.
Or maybe a cruise out of Galveston?
It would be ideal if the weather is warm enough for recreational kayaking.
Texas/Louisiana should be decent, not sure whether 2019 winter will be mild or not.
