Next month I'm going to Kiev and Barcelona (1 week each). I have ideas about what to do in Barcelona, but not Kiev. What should I see/do in Kiev? Thoughts?
It has a river with boat rides, an esplanade, and parks on hills around it with spectacular river views.
Lots of cool architecture in the city.
Many colorful churches to visit.
Chernobyl is nearby.
You can go see an opera, tour Pechersk Lavra, visit Pirogovo village, various museums including an excellent aviation museum (mostly WW2 era), historic markets. There is also some quirky art thing along a hill with large sculptures.
I considered the opera. I'm going to meet up with a woman there, and figured she would enjoy it. I'll look at the other suggestions. Thanks! Looks like an interesting city for sure.

Can't help with your question but good luck and hope the woman is a keeper.
The Great Gate of musical fame? The restaurant where Gordon Sondland made the call that cost him his job? Maybe Lev and Igor will be in town. We'll definitely be waiting for YOUR reviews.
I have never been but Kiev is an ancient city, the first original capital of the first Russian state that was obliterated by Mongols. You can google the top 20 things to do in Kiev just like I can. A side trip to Chernobyl is an intriguing possibility.
But it sounds like for most Western men that go to Kiev the main tourist attraction are the Ukrainian women looking to marry those Western men. And the thought is that Ukrainian women have not yet been poisoned by feminism.
And all Ukrainian men are not drunk wife beaters...
If this is your objective in Kiev, I would also spend more time in the city. One week is nothing...
