Long story, but I have an Icelandair flight credit I need to use. They go to numerous countries. Whenever we can travel again, I plan on an Ireland/Iceland trip but need to add another country to the trip to use the rest of the credit. For those of you who have traveled to Europe, which countries out of these did you like and why? We'll be there just a few days at the outset, so we're looking at just one city (probably the capital.) Thank you!
If you're only going to visit the country's capital, my vote is for France. There's nothing like Paris IMHO. Beautiful architecture, fascinating place to walk around for hours on end, wonderful museums if you're into that, great food. Pick a time when the weather is good -- spring or fall is best.
After seeing so much of these on tv when growing up, to be able to see and put everything into perspective, I'll say London or Berlin. There's just so much history in both.
