I like the window seat, so that I don't have people climbing over me to go to the bathroom. Normally I will look out the window during takeoff and until over the water. Most of my flights are up and down the west coast. Then I'll look again as we approach the destination, very little in between. Not much is more boring than the view of the ocean flying at 30,000 feet from Seattle to Hawaii.
I do watch the country and terrain that I am flying over…if visibility allows it. Most recently we flew over Greenland and the amount of sea ice and icebergs that were far out to sea was interesting as well as the coastal mainland and fjords. I have an interest in geography and history so I find it entertaining.
I flew into Seattle last month on a nice clear day and got a nice panoramic view of Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Rainier as well as a bunch of individual shots of each volcano.
If I am in the window seat and if it's daylight and we're below the clouds, I always look out the window. (Might look out for a bit at night, too, if it's clear or we are above the clouds - might just see an aurora that way.)
I would think it would be kind of abnormal and a bit weird if you didn’t look out the window when you’re flying. Especially when there’s stuff to look at. Were humans, not birds, so flying it’s something we should instinctually be curious about.
If i happen to get one never it scares the bejeezers out of me and I along with other ppl dont like ppl climbing over me . One lady climbed over me and stepped on my toe and when i got home i went to the dr and she cracked my toe . the dr did an xray because my toe was so bruised and hurting so bad .
