to the mountains, but the said part is that I have to wait for Vacations whereas, my office is almost on the beach, The beach is at 5 minute walk from my Office.
I voted for the beach, but thats primarily because I live near the mountains, less then an hour to the white mountians. So im in the woods doing hiking, mountain biking, etc in every day life.
When it comes to vacation I want a change, warm tropical beaches sound good.
I like mountains as well, landscapes and rural stuff, but for shorter time. But white sand, palm trees, drink juices next to the sea, sunbathing... that is vacation for me! (apart from visiting cities)
I prefer mountains to beaches. I personally like elevation changes, and hiking trails through woods to see a waterfall, lake, or scenic overlook/peak. One reason might be my hatred of heat and humidity, and it is usually cooler in elevation, plus hiking provides shade for the most part. Now I don't hate the beach, or the ocean/gulf, and I like walking on the sand or going into the water if I'm at such a location. I think for me beach vacations are usually summer vacations, which means heat, humidity, and lots of sun, and those are the things I don't care for. On the other hand, I don't see a point in going to a beach if the weather isn't warm or hot.
I truly love both, I can't choose so its a tie for me. When I'm at the beach, I just love hearing the roar of the waves and the ocean and knowing that I'm at the source of all life, knowing that the ocean connects us to the world, swimming with danger and not knowing what you would find. When I'm in the mountains, I feel like a man, a king of the world when I'm over looking everything else at the peak of the mountain, I feel like I conquered nature (RESPECTFULLY) to a certain degree. I love making camp fires and and doing "mountain man stuff", its therapeutic and I can gather my thoughts when I'm away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I can't live without either.
Can't really decide. I like the beachy vibe and atmosphere, but also love the dramatic landscapes in mountains. Tropical food and drinks are exciting, but sometimes I like heavier stuff. I guess it depends.
I was going to say beaches with mountains visible, but then I saw the caveat in your post. Darn.
