Freshman year of high school, during Spring Break. Every year we drove to Lousiana to visit my Dad's family, and instead of doing the usual 16 hour drive, Dad decided to fly us down. We flew Delta, and the strike was going on then...I remember crossing the picket lines in Cincy! We changed planes somewhere, then flew into New Orleans. One of the landings was really bad, and to this day, I still get a little nervous when landing, waiting for that huge bump! That was the one and only time we flew there.
My first airplane ride was in 1995 DUS-LHR (Duesseldorf to London Heathrow) with British Airways Boeing 757-200. The aircraft is now flying for DHL as a freighter.
My first and only plane ride was back in 2000. I went to Toronto. Waking up to a nap while 6 miles in the air and experiencing turbulence was not a great feeling.
My very first plane ride was from San Fran to Guam, where my dad's job sent us for a 2 year assignment. From there we flew to Japan a couple of times to see my mom. But when we got back, my dad took my brother and me on a small private plane (the pilot was one of his co-workers) for a couple of hours just around some areas of So-Calif, for my 15th b-day. It was really fun.
My first airplane ride.... that was when I still had diapers on, and could barely say airplane, which was a couple of weeks ago.
Sorry, I was less than a year old, and from what I was told, it was on either a Douglas DC-6 or DC-7 (propeller type airliner) in 1957. I was also misbehaving and wanted to chase the flight attendants.. Hey, I wanted to get plenty of training!
I was 11 years old. Flew on an Ozark airplane with my parents.
We were going to Washington DC for vaca.for 2 weeks.
After taking off I got sick & I mean really got sick. Had to use one of those paper bag thingys in front of me. That was so embarrassing
When we were flying back home my folks gave me drugs so I wouldn't get sick... all went well, until the stewardess spilled hot coffee on me. HELLO...I didn't even drink coffee, I was a kid.
Not a very pleasant experience flying for the first time.
I was 18 months old, so don't remember, but flew from London to my fathers country in Africa to show me off to the family and for my mum too get a glimpse of African life. They told me I was quite well behaved throughout the flight
