Some of my absolute best memories are from traveling on 2-lane roads with amazing natural scenery and pretty much nothing else. I say do it if you've got the time. Just keep an atlas handy.

Will do. Now if I can just get rid of my upset stomach since I'm nervous. I'll just have to keep listening to my Jimmy Buffet to stay calm.

Wish me luck! Every Mile will be a memory.

This is our favorite way to travel! I would much rather so see stuff on the back roads than the interstate.

We've managed to find a way to get from Orlando to Fayetteville(son's) without going on the interstate. Oh the beauty we've seen.

We going from Orlando to Mt Airy NC the week of Thanksgiving and can't wait! No interstates!

Like others take a map or a GPS and you'll be fine!

I'm envious!

embrace those Changes in Lattitudes and take comfort that if it doesn't work out there'll be no doubt that the pleasure was worth all the pain

Well I made it to Tennessee as planned. I took interstates down except in Kentucky I took Highway 25 the Cumberland Gap Parkway? It was beautiful. On my way home I may take some 2 lane highways and some interstate. A nice mix will do the trick.

Josh, you'll be fine as long as you don't listen to Buffett's "Wonder Why We Ever Go Home"... Seriously, there are PLENTY of good state and U.S. highways along your way. U.S. 35, for example, is 4 lane through pretty much all of OH now. Have a great trip!
