Im trying to book a hotel for Christmas Eve and I feel the rates are little to high right now.

Do rates go cheaper closer to a date you are wanting if you book later or do they tend to go up?

It's really "supply and demand"--they will start raising the rates if they're booking up. If they have plenty of rooms they will sometimes work a deal! It's always best to call the hotel directly (not the 800 reservation #) and ask if they have any "specials"--frequently they will!
