I ran across a website for Flyclear that caught my attention. Apparently they provide some sort of service that expedites you through security lines at some U.S. airports. According to the website, you get your fingerprint or iris scanned and then a "helpful" Flyclear attendant takes your bags and "speeds" you through the security line.
So, has anyone used Flyclear? How exactly does it work? Do they have their own security line? Do you get to cut in at the front of the existing TSA lines? It seems to me that you still have to go through the exact same security screening process (or even more, what with the iris scans), just no/little waiting in line. What if there's lots of people with Flyclear memberships, does the Flyclear line (assuming one exists) move any faster than the old fashioned TSA line?
Doesn't sound like it's worth the $200/year fee to me. Maybe if they guaranteed no flight delays and more legroom, I might take another look...

In the CVG airport, you are directed to a Flyclear line which reads your id, scans a print or eyeball, and then escorts you back to the TSA line. To the front of it. It's kind of embarassing being escorted to the front of the line, but it does get you there.
That said, it only works where there is a Clear counter and has no impact on subsequent security checks, other lines, or TSA processes.
Unless you fly a lot, know that you'll be using airport terminals with Clear points, or really, really, REALLY hate waiting on line, save your money.
Wow - have to disagree with that statement. Granted I fly on a regular basis. But the Flyclear card has been a lifesaver even the first few times I used it. Particularly when you can never predict what security measures may be in effect at any given time, there's nothing worse than being a little short on time and running into a security line that looks like the the zig-zag stampede at Disneyland to get on the Matterhorn. So, yeah I feel a little uncomfortable buzzing to the front of the line, but when it means I don't have to sprint to my gate AND I have time for Starbucks it's all good.
Hmm first post and it deals with promoting fly clear? Me thinks the company has trolls googling forum posts to promote their product.
But anyways I do agree with Wastina. Security lines are an issue at big airports, at smaller airports it's not really that much of a deal, and flyclear is not available everywhere.
I've just gotten an e-mail from Flyclear that they've suspended operations. They couldn't renegotiate priviledges to continue... and won't be offering refunds, due to their "financial situation." Guess that says it all.

If you paid over 60 days ago, get in line with all the creditors. You can request claims forms from the US Bankruptcy Courts; when you get them, cut them in quarters and place them in the bathroom as that is probablt what they are worth.
Juggler...I think most airlines can get you the same thing...this may be a way to get you to pay money...or even too much money...for the same thing that an airline will provide. Yikes, i just read the post above about the bankruptcy...good thing you posted this thread!!!
