Do I get extra points for actually going to the BOTTOM of the Grand Canyon? Been there on mule, plan to go back and hike before my knees get too old.
I can add Tokyo to my list, and the ruins of Lamanai (Belize) and Arenal Volcano (Costa Rica).
I had 4 on the list; the Smitsonian in DC, Disneyworld in Orlando, the CN Tower in Toronto and the Parthenon in Greece. My favorite on the list was the Parthenon. It's amazing in person.
What? No Mud Volcanoes in Gobustan (Azerbaijan)? I'm shocked! I guess it would be interesting to see what OTHER places could be added to the list.
One of the more disappointing books I've leafed through was the "1,000 Places To See Before You Die" - I thought that it left out quite a few places that people just don't know about. There were entire countries that were not even represented... There should at least have been an appendix with some honorable mentions from each country!
I have two more continents to visit to hit all seven, and I plan on seeing the Sydney Opera House ... someday. (Did those folks go to the top of the bridge also?).
I have being to 11 of them, are not american however and have never being to either american continent. Favourite was angkor wat, most dissapointing perhaps the eifell tower, just get the photo and then left. Could not be bothered with the 3 hour wait to get to the top. The one on the list i have not been to and would most like to see is machu piccu. I also agree that the rurins of Ephuses in turkey belong on a list like that. They are much better than the ones i have seen in greece and italy.
Gee, I think I need a life, only been to two of them
