I recently took an hour and a half hour flight from Washington to Boston MA. That was the flying time, it did not include the three hours we sat on the tarmac waiting for a thunderstorm to clear. I thought I was going to die. The ceiling was only 5 foot ten and the seats so narrow and uncomfortable. The plane they used was super small and all the seats were used.
I had a major claustrophobic attack while we waited and waited to take off. Can you relate?
I've flown in all sorts down to sinlgle engined private aircraft seating four- at a push.
I often took Norman Brittain Trilanders around the Channel Isles. They're known as the flying pencil case, though admittedly the flight times were not great.
So while it may not have been comfortable I wouldn't freak out but wouldn't like all that time stuck there.
But I hate being in heavy crowds- that is my pet hate.
I can relate. I hate flying and get claustrophobia even in the largest aircraft. Many years ago I learned deep breathing exercises and closing my eyes and taking myself to a different place - a form of meditation and let me tell you it works. I learned to relax each muscle group during this relaxation exercise. It really does work. And mind you I am a white knuckle flyer and this exercise gets me through it.
