Does anyone have any rental sites that they can recommend? I'd prefer a site or link that has been used and not googled.
In particular, I'm considering a sojourn in Italy in early Fall and would like to explore some options.
Thanks.

You might find what you need at the Slow Travel site.
Sometimes their tone is a bit la-dee-dah for me, but they do have a lot of reliable rental information, and Italy is one of their specialties.

I will have to dig around to find the info but I came across a small organic farm perched on a cliff over the Bay of Naples that rented small apartments for short visits. Lovely place. I was there in fall when there were few tourists.

Sounds fascinating. I never made it down to Naples, not enough time when I was in Sicily.
If you do find it, let me know; I'll appreciate choices.

I would like to visit Sicily. Southern Italy seemed so different from Northern Europe, like I had finally reached a foreign land. Wish I had had more time to explore.
Here's one B and B, it's in Sorrento where the other one was. I'll keep looking.

Thanks, ellie, yes the North and the South of Italy are vastly different.
I loved Sicily! Stayed nearly a month and could have stayed for another and still not see all there is to explore.

I met a friendly young man from Sicily working at a local pizza joint, of all places. He was telling me a little bit about it, just a few days ago.
I haven't found the B&B I visited yet, but I did find this site, which may give you more flexibility. It's a network of Italian farms, some or or all of which, provide accommodations and food!
I clicked a few links at random and started getting excited. This may be the theme of my next vacation. I also noticed similar networks for other parts of Europe and the US. The Italian one appears to be quite extensive.

I dug through my papers and could not find the info on the farm in Sorrento. Seems there are quite a few. I did not stay there but met a couple who were staying there. They invited me over for drinks. They were quite pleased with the place and gave me a small piece of paper with the info. I could draw a map for you, but it wouldn't help with reservations.
However, I did find reference to an airline we used that has stunningly low fares. We experienced no problems except for the fact that it's open seating on the plane and they lined us up like cattle on the tarmac in Rome while waiting to board. Our flight from Paris to Venice was perfectly sane, though.
