Hello, I am new here. But I just want to put this out here and if any one can give me some suggestions, please do. I am from Norfolk, VA and am trying to relocate to Durham. I had a job interview with the Durham County Social Services office on April 23rd. I was advised I would here from the director if they were interested for a second interview. Meanwhile, myself and a friend went down there for this interview. She can along for the ride. We were exhausted because we had attended church there and they went for a bite to eat, so about 4:30 pm EST we arrived at the Red Roof Inn off of exit 175. At first, the receptionist over charged me and then we settled on a decent rate. My friend and I got up the next morning for the interview (we arrived on Sunday). Went to the interview and came back to the room because it was so hot and I was in a suit. I changed my clothes, dashed to the office to leave the key because we had to get back to Virginia. Well, later in the week, I was checking my bank account online, and discovered I was overcharged. I called the Guest relations phone number which I had to go through their reservation line to get. I was advised me or my guest or both had put holes in the wall in this room. I was shocked to say the least. I then attempted to reach the local manager of the hotel; she of course was out. I did not receive a call until this past Monday from the local manager. She refused to refund my money. I have not received a receipt or any paperwork in reference to this. She gave me the area manager's phone number; he has yet to return my call. I have printed a form for the attorney general's office because this appears to be the only way to resolve this other than taking them to small claims court. I am not giving up on this because this may have happened to others and I want to try and prevent it from happening again. Please; if you have any suggestions on this let me know. You can email me because I don't always go back to the post. And please do not stay at Red Roof Inn. Have blessed day!
