I saw Venice. EXPENSIVE. 80 Euro for a Gondolla ride for the wife and I. If you see Venice, get a Gondolla ride at night, and watch the sunset over the water.

OH! CANT FORGET! Hit up every single hard rock cafe in Every city that has one. T shirts from there are the best souvenirs you can buy. I went to the Hard Rock in Oslo, Paris, Rome, Venice, and Munich (Oktoberfest.)

If you are up to it, check out Couchsurfing.com. I don't want to explain in detail, but you won't regret doing it.

I agree that Venice can be expensive, but I loved the gondola ride. Just getting lost and wandering around is the best part of Venice. I liked the Cannaregio district.
We actually splurged on a hotel there and did not regret it, but I wouldn't bother if I were a single guy.
LOL about the Hard Rock Cafe.
I went to the very first Hard Rock Cafe in London in 1974.
I had been in England for a month and just wanted a decent cheeseburger, so this place was recommended to me.
I don't think they were selling t-shirts back then, and I don't think I've been back since, but I can see how those hankering for a burger might like to stop in.

Couchsurfing can be hit or miss, but for us it was a highlight of our trip.
