Air Canada is certainly cheaper than BA and they seem pretty efficient.
I forgot, we flew with them too. They were fine, though I've heard others complain about them.

One day First Class! One day .
I used to fly it when my dad (a United employee) was alive--which admittedly was a lo-ong time ago.
It was okay.
These days, I can't imagine paying the money for it. We all get there at the same time.

I know - I just want the opportunity to lie down properly and stretch out when I go to sleep and eat fancy food and get served free champagne and have the flight attendants kiss my a** for the entire 10 hours .
Funny, I just checked flights to UK for next year and AC is actually more than BA. Weird.
I've flown BA many times and they're fairly good, I know they have a bad reputation for losing bags...thankfully I haven't lost my luggage with them so far.
Guys you are totally missing some important facts:
The thing is, with all the code sharing and airline partners, you don't really know what carrier you will be traveling on unless you look carefully. KLM could be Northwest, which in turn could be Delta metal, or Delta could be Air France metal.
The jet itself could vary even within airlines. You could get an outdated 30 year old 747, or a relatively newly equiped 767 or 77 with all the entertainment amenities. It's a crapshoot. A sophisticated traveler can research all this before booking to ensure you get the plane and carrier you want, but it takes some work.

Case in point: the United-Luftansa flights I mentioned before. It is hard to tell, and even if you do research they could still change it up before you actually get to the airport.

With the code-sharing thing, I've never not known who I was flying, or what equipment.
In my experience, they spell it out very clearly when you make the reservation.
I flew Northwest to France, but then from Paris to Toulouse, it was KLM. I knew this going in.
Of course, even sophisticated travelers can methodically arrange their itinerary, arrive at the airport, and have problems with their aircraft or flight.
- all companies charge for second bag of luggage,
- food, service is roughly the same, there is a chance to get better or not so good plane with any carrier, some companies are a little bit more reliable, than others,
- possible problems with AlItalia due to their financial situation. (I feel, like AlItalia going to be my choice despite ))
Correct?
Are there "smart" companies, who charge for something other companies do not on international flights, such as food, drinks, pillow, blanket, heard one company charge for blankets

That's NOT true! You always know in advance which carrier it is. NW and KLM are co-owners; DL & NW are partners then, DL now owns the other; Delta is a partner with AF.
Just looking on their webpages tells you that.
