I suggest you post your question on the L.A. bulletin board (which is a sub-forum board of California).

Lenny,

It might help if you were more specific in your post.

Louisiana is a good sized state, and is fairly spread out, so you'll have to state what part of the state you'll be visiting! Shreveport, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Monroe? There are cities and towns all over the state.

LA without any periods is the postal abbreviation for Louisiana. If you didn't mean that you were visiting Louisiana, then you should be more specific about where you will be visiting. LA can mean a lot of things.

If you intend to visit a city with the initials 'LA' then you should specify which one. If you meant Los Alamos, NM, you should say so. If you meant Los Alamitos, CA, then that's what you should say. If you meant Los Angeles, CA, then you should say so.

If you did, indeed, mean Los Angeles, then you also need to state what part of the city you intend to visit, or at least what you intend to see on your visit. Because L.A. is so spread out, you will need to choose a location that is workable for you.

Don't forget that it also means Lower Alabama.

There are some nice hotels in Mobile and on the Gulf.
