What can you guys tell me about this airport? Is it easy to get around for a shorter layover? Is it set up in a way that I'd have to go through security again if I have to change terminals or concourses or will I get to bypass security between flights?

It's a small airport and very easy to manuever. If it's just a layover, you will stay in transit area and won't need to go through checkpoint again. Not much to see but flights that leave from CVG are almost always on time because there's hardly any congestion on the runway.

Unless you are travelling on Comair, you can connect to the terminals through underground passage. The Comair terminal requires an overland transfer to the other terminals, but no security other than at baggage claim.
