My favorite state is Alaska. The scenery is so dramatic and I was surprised how green and lush the mountains were on the Kenai peninsula.

I also love Oregon with its beautiful forests, snow capped mountains and gorgeous beaches.

Texas is my first love!

But also the mountain states, for the dry, clean air and gorgeous scenery: Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana.

Also Oregon is very beautiful state!

So I have only been to maybe half or a little more than half the states in the country, so I can't fully judge. So far, I would say Alaska is probably the most amazing state.

California, Hawaii, Washington, Vermont, North Carolina, Colorado, Maine each have their own distinct beauty that would top my list.

Maine would have to be my first choice as that's where I live and it'st the state I have seen during all seasons and most regions. The colors right now are just incredible and today Oct. 4th it will reach 70 F here. Doesn't get much better than that.

My favorites are:

1. Texas (I was born and raised there. Lot's of friendly folks and you can be yourself).

2. North Carolina (I lived there too, for 2 years. I really loved it.)

3. Florida (the beaches, bars, stores, restuarants...Can I say more?? Just a lot of fun!!)

4. Southern California (the beaches; very nice and peaceful).

5. South Carolina (Myrtle Beach baby!!!)

6. Louisiana (lot's of friendly folks, the Cajun food is great, and Mardi Gras is always a lot of fun. Just beware of the pickpockets, the fights, and the drunks there though. The Jambalaya is to die for!!)

Oregon...plain and simple! Big Sur beaches with sea lions basking in the sun...Giant Elk rising in the mornings from their misty beds of fern and Sitka. Salmon and Steelhead...Coo's Bay..Crater Lake and wind surfing at The Dalles...Sailing up the Columbia Gorge...Having lunch in Hood River, Canby or on the Deschute's as you fish for cut throat trout. Smelling the animals and dust at the Pendleton Round up...and Oregon has the most beautiful women in the USA.
2nd choice...Samoa

I visited northern CA about 5-6 weeks ago. That is a beautiful part of CA, esp. Santa Cruz.
