New Jersey, USA!

Four seasons, great outdoors stuff, farm land, mountains, great nightlife, skiing, beaches, casinos, great downtowns, history, and within 1 to 4 ours of NYC, Phildadelphia, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Washington, and Boston, served by five international airports, great sports teams (Giants and Jets both play in NJ), incredible bars on the shore, every nationality of girl you could imagine, and always something to do!

Seconded. I had the opportunity to spend almost two weeks in the Boone area of NC (Beech Mountain) and absolutely fell in love with the place. I remember planning on visiting Johnson City TN which is not too far away but unfortunately, that never materialized. Heaven on earth is right.

Maybe you should visit it in winter.

Even retirement magazines that tout Boone for retirement relocation, warn about all the days of fog in the winter.

I have yet to find a state( place ) that is ideal year around.

CA - it is modern, SFO is absolutely beautyful and has good public transport, the contrasts are awsome (beaches, cities, mountains, yosemite).
