My favorite island is Jamaica. My dh is from Jamaica and we own property and a business there..so of course I will promote it! It's beautiful. The people are awesome and the food is amazing. It's so laid back and just a great place to just 'be'.
I've been there on and off for the last 25 yrs..usually staying 4-6mths at a clip and have never, ever felt unsafe or uncomfortable and I've been all over the island..including big bad Kingston. LOL

It is really great and quite safe. There are a few places I won't go to after dark- like Trechtown- but most of Kingston is OK and the natives are cool.

Not a Trenchtown fan either. But, like I said, I've been all over Kingston to get my papers and JA passport and never had an issue. I get a bit taken back by ppl who post about how bad Mo Bay is...Mo Bay is not bad. There are areas around Mo Bay that you may not want to go to but as a whole Mo Bay is just fine. I walk around downtown Mo Bay all the time. Not just the area by the beach but actual downtown.
Nevis and Curacao. Nevis is less commercial, though you can take a ferry to St. Kitts if you want to go shopping. Everyone was just so friendly, within a few days we had people greeting us by name on the street. Curacao is also an interesting island. We spent a few days in Willemstad and then the rest of the time on the western side of the island. Absolutely beautiful, interesting island.

Is that from Kadushi Cliffs/Kura Hulanda Lodge?
