4. Manchester, UK to Miami, Florida via Boston
5. hmmm probably the last flight as we were flying over the atlantic back to the UK, there was major turbulence, never experienced anything like it before we had to sit for about 3hrs with seatbelt on and the steweds all had to be seated for the same amount of time and stuff was falling in the plane, wired.

1) Duluth MN, to Kano, Nigeria. Duluth to MSP, to NYC, to London, shuttle by helicopter to Heathrow, on to Kano. If my memory serves me right, it amounted to about 22 hours in the air.
2) Duluth MN to Minneapolis, about 20 minutes.
3) First flight was 18 yoa, MN to Reno.
4) Duluth to Anchorage.
5) Scariest was landing in Kano, they used the old oil smudge pots for runway lights....and had teenagers with automatic weapons for airport security.
1. where was the longest flight you have ever been on? how long?
Either McGuire AFB, NJ to Rhein Main AB, Germany or Travis AFB, CA to Osan AB, South Korea
Longest series of flights: Was part of a maintenance team that ferried OV-10 aircraft from Germany to California; 11 days of uncomfortable C-130 flights. (Flying over Greenland's fjiords was AWESOME, though)
2. where was the shortest flight you've ever been on? how long?
Got on a military C-9 Medevac plane at Ramstein AB, Germany to visit friends in England. Got bumped off in Berlin by a higher priority passenger.
3. where was your first flight to and how old were you?
Flew on Piedmont Airlines from VA to TN as a 14 year old
4. what was your most recent flight
My last flight was Frankfurt to Atlanta in March, 2000
5. what was your scariest flight?
A maintenance "functional check flight" in an Army Blackhawk helicopter...
I'm not sure why I have all of these questions. Just curious
I've sure enjoyed flying but just haven't had an opportunity since 2000. Maybe one of these days soon (or if I win the $200,000 in that other thread...
Crew Chief...pretty impressive flying resume
Bravo!
Someone like you should get right back "into the saddle", so to speak.
There's nothing better, more peaceful then flying......
1. where was the longest flight you have ever been on? how long?
LAX to Sydney Australia - about 14 hours. Ugh. Worse was returning, landing in LAX, and the next morning catching a flight to Hawaii (don't ask).
2. where was the shortest flight you've ever been on? how long?
Probably Salt Lake City to Denver - couple of hours?
3. where was your first flight to and how old were you?
Earliest flight I remember is flying alone from SLC to SoCal when I was 7.
4. what was your most recent flight?
From Tucson to Portland last April.
5. what was your scariest flight?
Either flying into Columbus Ohio during a tornado/thunderstorm, or a recent flight where I became ill after takeoff and fainted in the bathroom. I thought I was dying.
1. where was the longest flight you have ever been on? how long? From the Philippines to California, probably about 16 hours.
2. where was the shortest flight you've ever been on? how long?
Los Angeles to Sacramento, about an hour.
3. where was your first flight to and how old were you? From Los Angeles to Guam, about 6 years old.
4. what was your most recent flight? Long Beach, CA to Austin, TX, back in May, 2001.
5. what was your scariest flight? I've mentioned this in another thread. Flying from Omaha to Dallas-Fort Worth, very turbulent (it was tornado season in Tornado Alley). As the plane was approaching to make a landing, it rocked from side to side several times. The impact upon landing was VERY rough, and I'm surprised the landing gear didn't snap off. Thankfully, we all arrived at the airport terminal all in one piece, albeit a little shaken up just moments before.

Thanks, MovingBack! You'd be suprised at how similar to flying driving a truck is... "Formation flying" with other trucks through a city. LOTS of "kamikaze" car drivers. Maintaining "vertical and horizontal seperation"... Yeah, I enjoyed flying but, oddly enough, never wanted to be an aircrew member. Oh well, it was still fun. And, yes, one of these days again, I will take my lovely bride aloft!
Longest flight: Lufthansa, San Francisco to Hong Kong, about 18 hours.
Shortest flight: Honolulu to Molokai on a prop flight. Just a few minutes.
First flight: Eastern Airlines, Newark to Boston, on a DC3!
Last flight taken: A long time ago! I ain't gonna push it!
Scariest flight (I'll make this my scariest landing): That Lufthansa flight into Hong Kong. That airport was in a deep valley surrounded by hills, Hong Kong and the ocean. The pilot circled, almost touched down, changed his mind, abruptly lifted up FIVE TIMES before finally landing. The passengers all clapped. I stood up and yelled, "Stop applauding! The Da** fool will try it again!"
1. where was the longest flight you have ever been on? how long?
NYC - Paris, 7.5 hrs
2. where was the shortest flight you've ever been on? how long?
Detroit - Cleveland, 1/2 hr
3. where was your first flight to and how old were you?
10 I believe, a sightseeing flight. Commercial flight:21 (yeah I started old) from NYC - Minneapolis, MN
4. what was your most recent flight
PHX - Newark, NJ
5. what was your scariest flight?
ST. Louis - NYC. Sat on the runway for 2 hrs waiting to take off, while in the air we were surrounded by thunderstorms, plane shaking, kids screaming. LaGuardia closed because of the weather, we had to divert to Hartford to refuel, finally arrived about 4 hrs late. Oh yeah, my ride took off so I had to take the bus and walk from the station to my car @ 2AM!
