Anyone ever use Sandals resorts or more specifically the ones on St Lucia? My husband and I are considering a vacation with them. What was your experience like? Also it is my understanding that the food and alcoholic beverages are included, true?
We have not stayed at Sandals, but we have been to St Lucia. Sandals is all-inclusive, which we are not fans of. I can tell you, based on what we saw at the airport, that Sandals is very, very popular with young honeymooners. I can also tell you that their resorts are quite a distance from the airport (about 1.5 hours) and the roads in St. Lucia are not for the faint of heart. We didn't even travel as far as the Sandals area, and were so uncomfortable during the ride that we arranged a helicopter transport for our return to the airport.
St. Lucia is beautiful, and has some of the nicest people we ever experienced in the Caribbean.
We've been to the Sandals in the Bahamas and enjoyed the trip. Two words of caution - you must be a fan of all-inclusives (many are not!) and the resort population really IS made up of young honeymooners (as in less than 30). This was an enjoyable trip.
Tripadvisor.com is an excellent source of hearing what others have to say about any place in general....check it out
True, but keep in mind the 'possibility' that the reviews you read on Tripadvisor may be more than a bit skewed to the negative for those that had a bad trip to vent! Just IMO.

When do you want to go? What do you like to do? How much are you looking to spend? We need details!!!!! LOL We have been to Sandals on Jamaica and St. Lucia.
I've been to the Sandal's in Ocho Rios Jamaica, and it was awesome. It was my first trip to an all-inclusive. It was really nice to lock up your wallet and not have to worry about paying and tipping for anything. the food was good, they arranged a side trip for our group and we also went out on a catamaran boat trip. Our next trip will defintely be an all-inclusive, and hopefully a Sandal's. Some do cater more towards singles or younger people, so make sure you review all the info on the property to find one that's right for you. But at our resort there was some older people, shouldn't matter, they didn't bother me and I had a great time.
