I am moving to Kennewick in the next few months. I am very active in my church where I currently live. Are there many Baptist or Non-Denominational Churches in Kennewick? Any recommendations for any that have really good programs for high school age kids? Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forums! The local yellow pages list 2 or 3 Baptist churches in Kennwick, one American Baptist, one Regular Baptist, and one Conservative Baptist. There are more in Richland and Pasco, the 3 cities are close enough to each other that if you really like a church in Richland or Pasco, traveling there for services would not be a big deal.

Good luck on your relocation.

There are some larger Baptist churches on the south side of the Kennewick/Richland area. Keene Road and Kennedy Road are the ones that first come to mind. There are some smaller ones as well, but those two appear to have large enough congregations that a youth group is a certainty. There's a tiny one in Benton City that appears to be mostly older people.

The road network in the tri-cities is a bit confusing at first because the roads meander all over the place. This is because three rivers come together in Richland/Pasco, and everything is built around them. You'll want a GPS with up-to-date maps. Summer is the best time to learn the area because the sun is out so much and there are plenty of daylight hours.

Not sure about Baptist, but the Kennewick First United Methodist Church was very welcoming to us and has a very involved youth deartment. Good luck in your search!

You would want to stay away from Word of Faith Center in Kennewick, on Rainier Street. Classic cult-like structure. Although the church is trying its best to change it's reputation with the community, it is still very devious. The pastor and his wife are nice on the surface but are doing their best to hide family secrets that they don't want out in the public. Let's just say, run from this place, unless you don't mind overlooking adultery among church leaders, pastoral suicides, cover-ups of babies that were born due to infidelity (yes, actually hiding babies so no one finds out), etc. This is just a tip of the iceberg. Sickening place.

I'm not sure what you are talking about as far as Word of Faith Center. Pretty out there accusations.

We attened there when we lived in the area 3 yrs ago and where totally blessed. In fact we dearly miss it still and keep in touch with some through fb.

I think it would be fair to say that every church has issues, since the church is people. For us W of F was a good fit as far as worship, current messages, and we loved the cell groups. Iron sharpend iron ya know?

Just couldn't let what was a wonderful enriching experience be defamed without contesting it.

Hope you found a good church home
