Does anyone here work at the paper mill in Wallula or know someone who does? In general, Boise is a good place to work. I was just wondering if this mill has anything extraordinary about it - good or bad. I am looking at relocating to the area.

Also, Are there reasonable home rentals between there and Pasco? We may need to rent for a while as we get the lay of the land there.

I have driven by it a few times, it does not strike me as remarkable, it's a paper mill, it has that charachteristic smell, my impression is it's well run.

You could probably find a house to rent in Finley, or out near the plant. In general the Tri-City area has a tight rental market. There are a few motels where you can rent a room by the week or month in Pasco, Pasco has it's rougher parts but it's not that bad. Nothing like the tough parts of Atlanta, if you have been there.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Default Boise Cascade

I worked there for 5 years and they managed to kill someone during a shutdown. It was very sad. They blamed it on a contractor that really didn't have anything do do with the accident. Boise talks a good safety game but they don't follow through. The project was never thought through very well and proper safety precautions wern't taken.
