Had to laugh at this one. It is a church flyer, but with a twist, that being a sense of humor.

Quoting:

"Q: What does a typical service look like?

A: Music that doesn't suck, good coffee, and a talk that is helpful and makes sense.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Anything...but yes, something.

Q: An abandoned theater, really?

A: The smell is faint, barely noticeable."

While I tend to occasionally receive church solicitations, this one caught my eye as being different and funny.

They call themselves "Church For The Rest Of Us", and list their location for services at the Uptown Theater, 1300 Jadwin, Richland. Website: Eastlaketricities.com

I am not involved in any way with this church, (though I might consider it!).

Funny stuff.

Sounds like another group trying to modernize the gospel... so it's "comfortable" enough to be accepted. The gospel was designed to confront.
Come as you are. Lol. Coming as you are is great, as long as you can be confronted by God's word and challenged to change. It's never God's will to leave the same.
Kinda the same thing re "talk that is helpful and makes sense." When it comes to the ways of God, we must be challenged by a man of God who is consecrated enough to hear a fresh word from God..... this had better challenge and oft times contradict our logic and what makes sense to our human nature. If everything you hear always makes perfect carnal sense, that would indicate that the answers are within us already and we'd have no need of the word of God, a man of God or even the ways of God...and the destiny of those with God. It's a journey; you can't just take the destination without the proper journey.
The people who can admit "hey, I do need God. More then just his blessing, power and, uh, more blessings like money (Santa, is that you?) - but a change of nature, direction and understanding and WHATEVER God has for me" are people who's lives change - really change because they've embarked upon a relationship with God, not just a modernized / relevant / updated / changed religion.
He knew what He was doing when He created this plan.... no updates needed... and no conforming to the dictates of the flesh and modernistic trends.
FTR, I'm not saying this place is exactly like that, having not been there.... but what you read on a menu is generally pretty close to what'll be prepared in the kitchen and served....
... funny flyer, though.
