Is it true that many stores in Walla Walla that would normally be closed Sunday, and other Seventh Day Adventist dominated areas, close on Saturdays instead? I don't remember where I heard that. Is it true?

I would expect quite a few Walla Walla businesses to be closed on Saturday since...
"In 1836, the first settlement on the river was Whitman Mission, established by Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, missionaries from the state of New York."
Then & Now - City of Walla Walla

But... there are PLENTY of places open on Saturday AND even more on Sunday!

I have several business friends who are SDA, and they close on Saturday, and sometimes Sunday too!

In the VERY unchurched we_tside (<5%) Our local (large) produce store has SDA ownership and it is closed early on Friday and all day Saturday.

I am no expert on this, but I would expect most business owners would not close on Saturdays, as research indicates this is the busiest shopping day of the week. Not to say it doesn't exist in Walla Walla. However, among major national retailers I seriously doubt it is mainstream.

Most places in College Place (just west of Walla Walla) are closed on Saturdays because it's a Seventh Day Adventist dominated community.
