The links to their websites are apparently not working, not sure if Google is having some issues.
Thanks for the hotel recommendations. I have their links . I was considering one of these you mentioned since according to Google Maps it's only a 27minute commute.

My other two preferred apartment options are a 32-minute(Kennewick) and a 33-minute(Richland) commute. It's only a 7-minute difference according to Google maps. Now I'm thinking I should go for the shortest commute, the 27-minute commute?

The night life and dating prospects are equally dismal in the Tri as in Umatilla or Hermiston. Particularly with COVID. Hate to see you spend extra money and time for no real benefit. I guess if you are renting rather than buying, you can try it for 6 months or a year and see how it goes. If I worked in OR, I would live in OR.

Thanks for the input. That's not good to hear Ill see how it goes. Just locked in an apartment in Kennewick, 32 mins from work. I'll scope out Hermiston and Umatilla once I'm there.

Well, good luck in any case. Care to say what kind of work you will be doing? This is a La Nina winter, so we may have more snow than a "regular" or El Nino winter. The trip down I-82 may be slick. Made worse by many drivers around here who don't seem to understand how to drive on snow.

I can mostly work from home, so not that big a deal for me, and being near retirement anyway.

Again, good luck, both professionally and personally.

El Nino and La Nina in my experience don’t determine Tri cities weather in my opinion. We seem to have our own weather, somewhat effected by ocean temp but not always a sure thing. In Tri cities you get what you get and its position in the path of storms. In my last six years here the two snowiest winters were both in El Nino and La Nina winters. It is a total wildcard.

Thanks for letting me know about the La Nina winter. That is good to know. Currently working on getting an AWD vehicle and putting some winter tires on it. I'll be working as a data center technician.

Ok, seems like it could go either way. It will be a new experience for me either way. I'm a cautious driver so I should be fine for the most part.
