What is the employment outlook for the Tri-Cities area? Is it relatively easy to find a menial job such as waiting tables, doing security guard work, etc?

Also, who are some of the major employers in the region?

Smile Some resources for finding a job

Don't know any official employment outlook figures for the area but there are some things that will help you look for work. Check out the Washington State Work Source website for job listings in our area its a great comprehensive resource of job listings. They also have a list of major employers so you can go to the potential employer websites directly. There is also a link to government jobs to search their site, and there's links to the local government (City/County) websites that have listings. The more you dig around the more you find. The local paper is the Tri-City Herald and they have listings that you won't find on the Work Source website. All the local school districts have jobs on their websites, with Pasco seeming to pay the best but have a strong need for bilingual employees. Haven't looked at the listings for awhile but likely you will find some waiter/waitress jobs on Work Source and the minimum wage for WA state is the highest so that helps. Moon Security has a large security guard divison, I think the largest for our area. CWI used to do it locally but not sure if that's still the case. Hanford and related jobs are huge for the area, there are many subcontracting companies that are out there. Con-Agra is a huge food processing company and there are many other large ones in the area. The hospitals in the area for medical-field jobs are Kadlec (Richland), Kennewick General, and Lourdes (Pasco). Hopefully you find something
