Hi, I am new to the area and need some new shoes, but so far have not found what I need.

I want some good quality women's shoes (casual or hiking) that I can wear around the house and yard. I really need leather, and not high heal type. Boat shoes, hiking, something I can walk the dog with and go to the store, but will take a bit of wear. While I usually go for the cheapest stuff, this time I need quality that will last and am willing to pay for it. Mail order doesn't seem to work for me - I need to try them on first.

So far places like Walmart, Target, and Famous Footwear, do not have leather or they only have heals. Ranch and Home seems to have only limited sizes (as though they are always sold out of the more common sizes.) Big 5 does not have what I need.

What stores am I missing? Are there any family shoe stores in the Tri-City area? Or apparel stores that also sell quality shoes? The phone book is not a help...

Thanks!

Try David's Shoes and/or Taylor'd Shoes in Kennewick. They are in the Yellow Pages, but the ad they have there does not do justice to the store, particularly David's.

Default Thanks!

Thanks to both posters! I will try the stores mentioned, and will call mod cut:. I do want to say, I like the quality/style of the shoes at mod cut:, my problem is I wear a common size, and perhaps have been in at the wrong time of the month? Whatever, I don't mean to disparage ANY of the stores I have been to, they all have a certain clientele that they sell to, and mostly it seems that is not me. Hopefully I can find something that works for me. Thanks again for the help.

There is also a shoe store in the shopping plaza on the corner of Clearwater and Edison St. It is in the side facing Edison, a few doors down from the custom tea shop. They have a lot of high-end and quality European shoes. Pretty expensive but have heard good things about them.
