We definitely don't want another Jeffrey Dahmer on our hands! That's one way that some serial killers start out...by killing animals and then progressing to people.

I want to believe that this girl could be "cured." I hope so.

Usually damage is done.
You can reform someone who's been on drugs and get them clean and leading a nice lifestyle so they won't be enticed to do drugs again.
You can't reform people so that they feel remorse. The article said the girl showed no remorse, nor cared that what she did was wrong. Most people like that are not all there and never will be.

Luckily this girl is 10 years old and can and SHOULD be prosecuted by the legal system.

Heck, live next to her after she's cured.

An oft-used, erroneous non-argument. ::yawn::

Bravo, queen, BRAVO!

ROFL, thank you, thank you very much.

Actually, I do know quite a bit about all of those subjects, and one thing that is clear to me after all this time is that people who at that age have no compunction about killing a living being that is so much more helpless than themselves are never ever not in a million jillion years going to be fine upstanding productive members of society. It's a hard truth to accept, but it's the truth, sorry. She will grow up and possibly bear and then abuse or even kill a child of her own someday. Fortunately for society, since she's a female, she will likely turn her rage and hatred inward and become a drug addict and/or become suicidal, unlike a male with similar issues who is more likely to turn his rage outward and become a rapist or serial killer. Criminal behavior is my favorite subject out of those you listed.

Yes, I realize we cannot put them to sleep just because we see what the future holds, but as Mighty Queen, it is my responsibility to sometimes put forth those truths that others are reluctant to voice.

You people do realize that the majority of sociopaths are living among us every day and never commit a crime, right? Or are you all just going by the Lifetime Movie Channel textbook?

Now, children can be cold blooded psychopathic killers and be as young as 10 years old.
Of course it's sad, and I know I sound cold-hearted, but perhaps I've just seen and heard too much of this. I think our efforts should turn toward helping those children who may be in some kind of trouble but whose lives have potential. There are so many of them.

Yes, I do realize that. I know some of those sociopaths. Even married one once. He wasn't a criminal, either, except perhaps for some drug use.

That's irrelevant here. This girl has already committed a crime, and beyond that, she has KILLED, deliberately and willfully. Do you think she has the potential to get "better"? Serious question.

I don't watch any "Lifetime" channel, btw. I am a reader, not really a TV person. Since you asked.

Poor dog. I hope the child gets some psychological help.

She is 10. She maliciously lured someone into letting her take the dog and drown it. There is no way this kid will be cured.

Reminds me of a recent case in my state where a young girl killed another, (with premeditation and a well constructed plan), "just to see what it felt like".
