I've given up on trying to 'analyze or understand' this type of human.

In fact, I am coming dangerously close to believing that if you fall into this category it is 'best' that you be permanently removed from the mortal realm.

That then would put the US legal system into a 'bad category'--so that won't happen.

Better minds than mine have addressed these issues--I hope some solutions will one day be found. I would think that the 'signs/symptoms' are identifiable early in life. But, who knows?

Glad he will be going to jail for the rest of his life. I also live in Utah, & have been following the trial (though I didn't live here when she was abducted) . Agreed w/ Katz, Elizabeth has been a pillar of strength & composure. I'm impressed & amazed by her strength.

I lived in Utah at that time, with two young daughters in our home. We reviewed our home security, how many people had keys to our home, what workers had been to our home, we installed an alarm system in our home at that time.

I always wondered why the Smarts did not have a home security system.
Or a dog.

It was a miracle that Elizabeth was rescued. If the Mitchells had stayed out of Utah, I wonder if Elizabeth would have ever been saved.

I will admit, I thought she was dead. I am glad I was wrong. Amazing that she was found.
