GloryB, I agree, the prosecution would have fried her and then some...WOW...I wonder what made her decide that testifying would not be an optimal choice/consideration. Hmmm, maybe this means the trial will end sooner? Yes?
she decided not to testify because...she knows she's guilty! Ashton would have chewed her up and spit her out, probably would have had her on the stand for a couple of days.
so probably the state will wrap up tomorrow. I wonder if they wil start closing arguments Sat or wait until Tues when both state and defense can have their arguments on one day.
Anybody want to guess how long the jury will be out? Do you think it will be short or a long drawn out deliberation?
sorry, got my days mixed up...I keep thinking tomorrow is Saturday. So state will finished up Friday I imagine. I would think they would both want to do their closing arguments in one day...so maybe Saturday. Still have to fit in judge's instructions to the jury. Then jury will start deliberations on Sunday?
I will say two or three days of deliberation. I could be wrong, it may be much shorter. I know if I was on that jury, and wanted to be with my family on the Fourth of July...I know that I believe she is guilty, there is not one shred of doubt in my mind, excpet the difference of whether or not it is premeditated, that may be tricky to determine. I think it was.
I honestly think they should make them wait until after the holiday to deliberate..... remove that incentive to huury it up.
The case needs to be fresh in the jury's mind to be fair for the defendant and the jury not having the chance to watch tv, etc.
