I read it in the Dutch newspaper....they probably feel sorry for her....she deserves to be punished for lying or keeping it a secret...no matter what age...nobody is entitled to walk free after a murder.

Crazy story. I think she already walked away free. I imagine that she only confessed because she knew she already got away with it.. what can they do to her now. it's almost like she is taunting the Dutch authorities. Probably not, but can be seen that way.

A "sort of" war crime from 1946?? Her punishment was living with what she had done.

No good deed goes unpunished.

The woman probably wanted to clear her conscience before she dies.

I agree.
Not that I'm absolving the "old lady" for her crime...but what good could possibly be derived out of persecuting her at this time? Confession to the crime after so many years is indicative of a repentant spirit...which is what counts after all. She could have kept this secret until she dies...yet, chose otherwise....
Just vocalizing an "opinion."

The wife of the victim knew the woman/shooter came to the door because the wife answered the door and went to get the husband/victim? The wife answered the door? The wife was in the home, then, when he was shot?.....and had seen the shooter? But it could never be solved? Something is missing in this story as in most news stories these days.
