"GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A gunman opened fire in two separate Michigan homes Thursday, killing seven people, including a child, before leading police on a high-speed chase through downtown Grand Rapids, authorities said. Within hours, dozens of officers with guns drawn had cordoned off a neighborhood in the northern part of the city, along Interstate 96 near a small lake. Police believed they had the man surrounded but warned residents to stay in their homes.Perp:
The man in the picture above, his young daughter was killed by that man.
The muderer is not from the area. He is from Detroit it seems since that is the direction he was heading before SWAT forced him to abandon his vehicle and take hostages inside a house [this story btw, is still going on atm, the perp is still holding hostages].
Hate crime ? Looks like it to me. If a White man went into Harlem and killed 7 Black people it would definitely be viewed as a possible Hate crime from the word GO. Obviously double standards are apparent in this case [Mainstream media is close to silent on this story].

Dantzler has a criminal record, CBS affiliate WWMT reports. He pleaded guilty in 2010 to assault and battery and served about a year. In 2000 he entered a guilty plea to assault with bodily harm less than murder and was sentenced to three to ten years.
In 1997 he was given a year of probation for malicious destruction of property, and in 1992 he was charged as a juvenile for breaking and entering.
Sandra Powney lives across the street from one of the homes where the shootings happened and said she had seen Dantzler at the ranch house where she said a couple, who have been there for more than 20 years, lived along with their two adult daughters.
A criminal record spanning 20 years, recently assaulted someone but hey lets give him one more chance.

There's no way to know right now if race was a motivating factor and therefore if he will be prosecuted with a hate-crime enhancement (not like it will matter - this guy will never see the light of day regardless of whether race was a motivating factor or not).
It seems to me at this point you're just race baiting.
Animal. Pure and simple. I hope they catch him and I hope he's dumb enough to open fire on police. I hope all his shots miss and that all the police officers' bullets connect.
Good to see the social justice system really helped fix him though. First contact in '92. Meanwhile some guy who happens to be in possession of a big amount of weed is serving a mandatory 7 year sentence.
Dozens of police officers with guns drawn descended Thursday night on a Grand Rapids, Mich., neighborhood and cornered a suspect wanted in the deaths of seven people, including one child.
Police said that after a high-speed pursuit, the suspect crashed his vehicle, ran and broke into a home and took two people hostage but later released one.
Three shots were fired from inside but no one was believed injured, The Grand Rapids Press reported. Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk said police are communicating with the man, identified as 34-year-old Rodrick Shonte Dantzler.

Michigan doesn't have the death penalty (a decision I agree with, despite this horrific case), so either this guy gets shot by police or he spends the rest of his life in a cage. It doesn't matter if they press hate crime charges against this scumbag.
