Earlier today, the head of the Orange County Sheriff said that there is a pending investigation conerning the death of Caylee Anthony. Is it possible that the state could indict her on murder 1 or something along that line? Maybe it has something to do with George Anthony.

Jerry Demmings say that an investigation opened up over witness tampering allegations.

I saw on CNN that there have been no definite, credible threats, and that she will not receive special treatment or protection paid for by the county.

It does not matter. Casey is free.

Latest updates from here in Orlando:

They aren't going after Cindy Anthony for perjury

Texas Equi-Search filed a lawsuit against Casey with no specified damages other than "Over $15,000." They allege that Casey knew her daughter was dead and didn't disclose this, which cost them in excess of $100,000 in search costs.

According to Jerry Demings, the minute Casey steps foot off the jail property she is entitled to and will get no more security than any other citizen.

Hi annerk! Thanks for posting this.....

I'm glad they made this announcement publicly...aren't you?

I think it makes us feel a little better as Orlando citizens to know our tax dollars won't be spent on helping her any further.

As the article says though, her attorneys will take care of providing security. But, as soon as they've soaked this case for all the money and fame they can get, they'll dump her. If any people on the face of the earth KNOW what happened and that she is guilty....it's them.

I'm also glad they aren't going after Cindy Anthony. The woman is broken enough.

the news about her security and who is going to sue her etc changes daily. So no one is for sure what is going to happen when she is released. Very sure they are not going to plop her on the curb and say adios amigo. Sure she is going to be put into a disguise and sent off to a safe place maybe even a half way house or her aunts home until the media attention dies down.

If Cindy Anthony broke the law they they should prosecute her. If not then leave her alone an let her move on. She is also a disgraceful mother in my eyes.

Oh no they won't--not on the taxpayers dime anyhow. It's up to her and her attorneys to arrange where she'll go. As far as Orange County is concerned, here's $1.50 for Lynx fare, we don't want you back.

Unless someone calls 9-1-1, they aren't doing a thing for her. And if someone does call 9-1-1, it better be for real, or they're getting hauled off for falsely reporting a crime.

I think that the state just wants to move on. She's not a threat to the public. Even if she did commit perjury, it had nothing to do with Casey not being convicted, and what good will it do? It's a pretty minimal sentence for someone who is a first time offender, and just that much more burden on taxpayers.
