Jerry Sandusky is among People magazine's year-end list of the "most intriguing" people of 2011.
I never thought of raping boys as intriguing. What a sheltered life I'm living.
Here are 3 definitions of "intriguing" from Dictionary.com. I find them totally appropriate in the use of the word by People magazine. The rape is not intriguing, the story is, do you know anyone who is not following this story?

1. to arouse the curiosity or interest of by unusual, new, or otherwise fascinating or compelling qualities; appeal strongly to; captivate: The plan intrigues me, but I wonder if it will work.
2. to achieve or earn by appealing to another's curiosity, fancy, or interest: to intrigue one's way into another's notice.
3. to draw or capture: Her interest was intrigued by the strange symbol.
Please check your facts, you'll find that 90% of abused kids are abused by people they know...so while you're busy worrying about the guy on a bench with a newspaper, the great babysitter you hired or the really nice youth group leader is busy grooming your child right under your nose
1st time I heard that the 10% was not important. I already know the youth group leader and the babysitter. Why you want to press the point is unclear. Yes you are correct. However the kids who are abducted by strangers near schools and other public settings are equally important to those molested by known people. The betrayal and loss of trust must be awful to go through....and what it worse in my viewpoint is Sanduskys (and everyones) denial and perpetuation of the crimes. That is more the point of this thread in my mind, but hey that's just my opinion.

The betrayal and loss of trust never goes away. It is with you always. You go on because you have to, but it never ever goes away. It is sort of like carrying a huge weight; when you are doing well & feeling well, the weight is easier to carry. When you feel less than great, the weight is so great you feel it will crush you. That is what those innocent victims have to carry because of that piece of sewage.
It was very insightful of you to think of the impact of betrayal on these victims.

1) because someone might actually believe that "stranger danger" is the greatest threat
And:
2) there are far too many people on the sex offender registry for idiotic things like skinny-dipping, peeing behind a bush, streaking etc. We have limited resources to deal with those who ARE dangerous but lawmakers don't wish to take action and fix it, instead, they listen to the "sheeple" who in turn listen to the media who make $$$ from whipping people into a frenzy.
You wanna know who gets lost in all this , that's right, the kids. I was one of them. My mom taught me about 'stranger danger". She never thought about my babysitter.

People Mag named Jerry Sandusky, not the story, as intriguing. He's neither the story nor intriguing.
