Jerry Sandusky, retired asst coach at Penn State, charged with sexual crimes against children over a period of 15 YEARS, and in particular a forced sex act against a 10 yr old boy. Most of the boys that were reportedly involved were from a agency that Sandusky started for disadvantaged children.
Penn's athletic director to be arrested for lying to authorities about what he knew of Sandusky's involvement and head coach Paterno reportedly was told of Sandusky's involvement with the 10 yr old but denies knowing the full extent.
Another example of those who specifically place themselves in close proximity to children, ie coaches, scout leaders, teachers...where they gain the child's trust only to abuse them in return.
I used to live in State College, and spent a great deal of time on the Penn State campus and at Toftrees. Incredible to think that this pervert and pedophile was roaming around there at the same time.
^^ Now Penn State is reportedly deciding when and how to get rid of coach Paterno. He is not suspected of any crime but thought by many, including police, to not have done enough to help investigate/notify authorities about HIS staff member Sandusky, who reportedly conducted sexual crimes against many young boys, the ninth of whom has come forward today.
With his winning record, Paterno would have gone out highly respected...now, IMO: he is only repulsive.
They are the lowest most depraved type of sexual predator there is.

This news story makes me so angry! Sandusky is a perverted predator and should live out the rest of his days in prison. However, the coaches, athletic director... who knew about this and did nothing but restrict the predator from their campus are to be blamed as well. This sick individual was caught with a young boy and his bosses were informed and they chose to protect their institution rather than protect the boys that this man had contact with. They did not do the morally right thing. I don't care if they committed a crime - they were wrong!
So far nobody has been convicted of anything. But it is very hard to believe that even the immortal football coach will be unscathed by this scandal. If these charges are proven to be true; how can anybody claim they did the right thing - when they did not go to the police? 2002 was the chance that Joe Paterno had to stop this string of tragedies - he did not and it does not appear that he followed up on the original accusations. He had the power to go to the police or ban his friend from the school. His lack of courage to do the right thing cost the innocence of other young boys.
It all has to be proven in court - but the whole mess is going to have a lot of collateral damage.
You wonder how many of these monsters are still perpetrating their crimes. Always seems to be an enabler or enablers around to support their nasty deeds too.
