When I saw that video I wanted to beat his ... and see how he liked it. I wanted to scream at them to just leave her alone. I couldn't believe how severely punished she was over something so stupid. What I couldn't believe was her mother telling her to "take it like a grown woman". Like I believe they'd go hit a grown woman like that, yeah sure!
I did sort of wonder about the drama/hysterics. Of the girl, I mean, she knew it was being video taped. However, even so, there is nothing my daughter could say or do to make me act that sadistically. Great, she could video tape being sent to her room. Not a lot of drama there.
We found over the years that was the best discipline ... go to your room ... or no phones calls that was always a killer to our teens ... or you are grounded this weekend ... these things worked out for us ... son would say can you just whip me instead. LOL Nope not whipping you but you are sitting here with us all weekend ... quality time with mom and dad. LOL
Yes, that is true. I have never really understood people who hit their kids, I mean, who can stand all that crying? I don't know. Too much energy. As for teens, I remember one son, who had his first experience with alcohol, he was so ill, really, what would the point have been of punishing him? He was so sick...
I do think that elected officials, and judges do need to be held to a higher standard, he knew that child abuse is against the law. And I felt like that whole situation was not the type of demeanor a judge should have or act like. He was out of control.
