A young wife/mother is missing in my city....for a week now. Husband claims he came home and she had left, leaving the 2 young children alone (sure, guy). He reported they had a fight the night before and he left, drove 4 hrs to their cabin and then when he came back the next day, she was not there. (blah, blah, blah).

I am not naming the case because I am stating he MUST be the person of interest though police have not named him yet....of course I think he killed her...the route taken so often.

Homicide was the leading cause of death of pregnant women a few yrs ago, not sure if it still is.....Scott Peterson, etc. And wife-murder is always in the news, it seems.

Separate! Get a divorce! Let the children grow up with mother in their lives!

What is the reason men think k-i-l-l-i-n-g is the best option? (And why so much violence from men...abusing, robbing, raping?)

What is so hard that the guy feels k-i-l-l-i-n-g is the better option?

Of course...BUT MUCH MORE OFTEN it is
men that kill...

Dept of Justice records show (on americanbar.org/domesticviolence/statistics)
Between 1998-2002,
83% of spouse murderers were male.

That sounds so, Josh Powell.

If the husbands the perp, where were the kids during his absence, when I'll assume he disposed of her body?

Was there a history of violence and abuse? She may have asked for a divorce, the reason for the argument and the motive to kill her. Women/ men living in a abusive relationship are in the greatest danger when the abused partner decides to leave.

Why would they choose to kill and leave the kids without a mother?

Inability to deal with their own anger and frustration, control issues, mental health problems, alcohol and drug addictions, pure selfishness, sociopathic, money, life insurance policies, discovery of an affair. The list could go on.

http://psych.mcmaster.ca/dalywilson/WhoKills.pdf an outdated pdf, but I'll leave it anyway.

Precisely like Powell, is my guess... courts did well to give custody of the kids to her sister.

MEN kill much more often than women. And abuse others...and fight, rob, rape...

(btw-NOT imy intention to insult the male population, I am quite fond of them in general)

Just trying to understand ...

What do men think is the reason for such violent acts by males?

Simple answer......men (or women) can be driven to a rage that erases all reason. That is the point of the primal instinct left in all of us to kill.

I believe it's all about control, plain and simple, unless the person doing the crime is psychotic, which isn't that common. And, a sick or warped mans want to control his wife in an extreme way when he feel threatened through adultery, divorce, financial problems, child rearing, etc., etc. A more "normal" person wouldn't be as threatened about these issues, but maybe a fragile ego or someone with major issues from the past might.

Control/ownership.

I think women kill for other reasons.
